Building Farm Success

The W.H.Y. Initiative, Inc. offers a yearly free 10-month program for middle-school and high school students (6th - 12th grade boys and girls) in Madison, Rankin and Hinds county.  The project’s goal is for the youth to gain a thorough understanding of how to start a farming/ranching business, develop comprehensive business, farm, and marketing plans, efficiently manage a farm, and develop relationships and receive assistance from the network of agencies that offer small farm programs and services in Mississippi..
